A note from us
Ten Mays ago Toby borrowed a sweater on a cold night at the far end of this island and never quite gave it back. We're getting married about four hundred feet from where that happened, and we would love for you to be there.

The day
The ceremony and the reception are both at the Conanicut Yacht Club, on Jamestown's east shore looking across the passage at Newport — so once you arrive, you're there for the night. A shuttle runs from the Newport hotels.

The night before
Friday 19 May, 6:30 pm — welcome dinner at 22 Bowen's, on Bowen's Wharf in Newport. It's a two-minute walk from both hotels, right on the water, and it will run late enough that you can arrive off an evening flight and still make it.
Everyone invited to the wedding is invited to Friday — but it's a seated dinner, so we do need to know. Tick the box when RSVPs open, or email us before then.

Travel & stay
Jamestown sits in the middle of the bay, on Route 138 between the two bridges. Providence is forty minutes away, Boston is an hour and a half, and the train from New York stops fifteen minutes from the island.

Your being there is the whole point, and getting to Rhode Island is not a small thing to ask. If you'd still like to give something, these are the three places we've set up.

A few notes
Questions
Answers, plainly
If yours isn't here, email us at hello@brigidandtoby.com — we read everything.
01Can I bring someone?
If your invitation names a guest, yes, absolutely. If it doesn't, we've hit the limit of what the club holds and we're sorry. You'll know plenty of people there and we'll make sure of it.
02Are children invited?
Children in your immediate family are, and they'll be named on the invitation. Beyond that we're keeping it to adults so the room stays a manageable size.
We'll share a list of sitters used by families in Newport and Jamestown with anyone who asks — email us and we'll send it along.
03What does "coastal formal" actually mean?
Cocktail attire that can survive a grass field and a sea breeze. Long dresses, suits, a jacket and tie. No black tie, no jeans.
The practical part matters more than the formal part: block heels rather than stilettos, and a layer you can put on when the temperature drops after the ceremony.
04How cold is it going to be?
Around 63°F in the afternoon and 54°F by dinner, with wind coming up the West Passage. Mid-May in Rhode Island is genuinely lovely and genuinely cold once the sun goes down at 8:03.
05What happens if it rains?
The ceremony moves inside the club and starts at 4:30 either way. Nothing else changes.
We'll text everyone who has RSVP'd by noon that day if we make the call, so make sure we have a mobile number for you.
06Do I need a car?
For getting to Rhode Island and around Newport, it helps a lot. Jamestown itself is small enough to walk if you're staying at East Ferry.
For the wedding day, no. The shuttle runs from both hotels from 3:45 pm and back every half hour from 9:30 until 11:30.
07Where should I park?
The public lot at East Ferry on Conanicus Avenue, then a five-minute walk up Bay View Drive. Parking at the club itself is limited and we're keeping it for the shuttle and for anyone who needs a short walk.
If you're driving over the Newport Bridge, you'll want E-ZPass or you'll be billed by plate.
08I have a dietary restriction.
Tell us on your RSVP. The menu leans on shellfish with a full vegetarian option, and the kitchen can handle gluten-free, dairy-free and most allergies with notice.
09Can I take photos during the ceremony?
Please don't — the ceremony is unplugged, and it's thirty minutes. Everything after that is fair game, and we'd love what you take.
We'll post a link here for shared photos in the weeks after.
10When do I need to reply by?
15 April 2028. RSVPs open on this site in January, once invitations have gone out.
11Can I come Friday, or stay through Sunday?
Yes to both. The welcome dinner is at 22 Bowen's on Bowen's Wharf at 6:30 pm on Friday the 19th, open to everyone invited to the wedding — just let us know you're coming so we can size the table.
There's no organised brunch on Sunday, but a lot of us will be at Slice of Heaven in Jamestown somewhere around ten.
